The Synagogue
The synagogue was built from 1985 to 1987. The architect was a son of Mannheim, Karl Schmucker. The rectangular building has four mainly glass outer walls and a central dome. That is a clear architectural reference to the tradition of some of Jerusalem’s most important buildings. The synagogue consists of various rooms, including a ball room, a library and a nursery. This new community centre was built not far from what used to be the heart of the Jewish community.
