The Christ Church
The Christ Church was built in historicist style with elements of art-nouveau. It unites aspects of almost all architectural epochs. In contrast to many other historic structures in Mannheim the Church largely escaped the destruction of World War Two. The foundation stone of this protestant church was laid in 1907, as Mannheim was celebrating ist 300th annniversary. Four years later the imposing structure was complete. The plans were drawn up by Mannheim architect Christian Schrade and his colleague Theophil Frey from Stuttgart.
